Mantra Yoga
June Class Plan & New Weekly Teachings
After exploring the five layers of being last month, I though I’d give you a way of being able to tap into some of those layers using mantras. June brings us a brand new month of themed classes and we’ll be exploring manta yoga over the next few weeks.
Mantras are often confused with affirmations where the two terms are used interchangeably. An affirmation sounds more like something along the lines of “I am safe, loved and fully aligned with my highest self” and they’re used as positive statements towards ourselves. Mantras on the other hand, are sacred sounds and syllables that we use to deepen our spiritual experience. The term mantra is made up of two Sanskrit terms, manas (mind) and tra (tool). So essentially the true purpose of mantras is to help us to cultivate deep states of inner peace and harmony. You can read more on mantras in my book A Beginner’s Guide to the Roots of Yoga.
I won’t give too much away here as we have lots to cover beginning this Thursday, but I’ll leave you with this and look forward to seeing you then :).
A note on how the Roots of Yoga works
Each Thursday I release that week’s class. Every class on the calendar below has a clickable thumbnail which you can tap or click it and you are taken straight to the practice. I know Substack is not a video platform, so I have made it as user friendly as possible so you don’t have to go searching! Just click the image and practice.
Alongside each weekly class I will share a recommended practice from the Roots of Yoga archive that pairs well with that week’s class, something to return to mid-week if you want to go deeper. Below is this month’s class schedule:

Much love,

I’m looking forward to this month of practices and studies 🙏
